True Social Media is the rage today but people don't go to Facebook to look for a builder (or a plumber, or a locksmith or a ...) they "GOOGLE" it!
Below are examples of ranking successes for a few of our clients.
Patriot Timber is a national importer of lumber products. Ranking a search term nationally is considerably more difficult than a local site. We have been working with Patriot for a short time and are working on a number of terms in order of value. The percentage of traffic for the term "Birch plywood" has increased from 1.2% to 15.7%. On an average there are 12,100 searches per month for the term "Birch plywood". This is a specialized search term of great value to Patriot Timber as it is much more likely to be a "Transactional" querie. A Transactional querie is a situation where in this case a potential buyer has a product in mind and is looking for a source to acquire it. Had Patriot not ranked well for this term they would surely have missed this opportunity. Prior to our ranking campaign Patriot's top thirteen terms for driving traffic were "Navigational". Navigational searches involve a situation where the searcher knows the name of the company they are searching for and is more likely to be informational as opposed to transactional. Many informational searches are for things like phone numbers, employment information, etc. Birch plywood is currently the number two search term driving traffic to the site.

We started working on Cirrus Construction's online campaign recently, Cirrus is a commercial contractor in a small town near the Virginia border. Cirrus out ranks the area's largest builders (Samet, Landmark etc) in their own cities. A portal site is currently in development to drive even more traffic to Cirrus.

LMI Builders like Cirrus is also from a small town on the edge of the Triad. LMI and Cirrus are in the same category "Commercial Contractor" competing for the same web traffic. We don't normally compete with ourselves but we were able to work something out.

Concept Builders is a production builder in Burlington North Carolina.
Even though Burlington VT has a slightly lower population than Burlington, NC it tends to rule in searches without a geographic reference. For example for "population Burlington" the first results refer to Burlington County NJ, Burlington, VT and Burlington Ontario. So getting our client's site to
rank well was a challenge.
